Kaua‘i firefighters extinguish multiple brush fires Wednesday

When firefighters arrived on scene shortly before 10:50 a.m., they discovered two fires at the end of Kalalea Road. The first fire was a combination of brush and a vehicle, which firefighters contained and extinguished shortly after.

According to preliminary reports, at approximately 6:35 a.m., Kaua‘i Police was dispatched to a report of a traffic crash involving a bicyclist and a motor vehicle. A bicyclist traveling southbound on Nalo Road attempted to make a right turn onto Ho‘one Road. After overtaking a vehicle near the stop sign, the bicyclist collided with a Toyota Tacoma operated by a 24-year-old Hanapēpē male traveling eastbound on Ho‘one Road.
