The Department of Water’s Meter and Transponder Replacement Project is expected to span over several years and is in its first phase of the island wide project to upgrade and replace aging and obsolete equipment to improve its Advanced Metering Infrastructure.

The single-lane closures in each direction, with alternating traffic throughout Olohena Road, will be performed and are necessary for roadway reconstruction. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes and to expect brief and occasional delays.

The closure is necessary for permanent roadway striping and roadway construction. During this time, lanes will be shifted to help accommodate for the construction. Kawaihau, Hau’a’ala and Mailihuna Road will experience temporary road narrowing.

Beginning Sept. 18, applications will be available for the 2024 Lānaʻi axis deer hunting season.

This will be a right lane closure in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of North Leho Drive and Kuamoʻo Road, beginning Sept. 18 through Sept. 22 from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. for crews to install replacement pins in the bridge deck.
