Hawaii COVID Cases Close in on 100 For Second Straight Day

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 98 new cases of coronavirus on Friday, the second straight day of exactly 98 new cases. The total raised the statewide tally to 31,171 since the pandemic began. One new COVID-related death was also reported.

The state’s two-week average is 83 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.6%. A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the state’s website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 23,993
Maui: 3,205
Hawai‘i: 2,621
Kaua‘i: 199
Lana‘i: 111
Moloka‘i: 35
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,007

A total of 2,073 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 474 people have died.

To date, 1,027,849 doses of coronavirus vaccine have been administered statewide.
