Daily COVID Cases Drop Below 100 Tuesday, But Two Week Average Still on Rise

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 71 new cases of coronavirus Tuesday, raising the statewide total to 29,581. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.

Tuesday is the first day Hawai‘i has registered fewer than 100 new cases of the virus in nearly a week. The state’s two-week average is 94 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.6%.

One new case was identified on Kaua´i Tuesday, per DOH statistics. A DOH map, which tracks cases of the virus by district across all islands, can be accessed on the state’s COVID-19 informational website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

A total of 1,979 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 462 people have died.

More than 611,000 doses of the vaccine had been administered across all islands as of Tuesday.
