Adult Visitor Tests Positive for COVID-19

The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported one new case of COVID-19 on Wednesday, Jan. 27.

Today’s case is an adult visitor whose source of infection is related to mainland travel. This case took a pre-test in his state of residency, but results were reported after arrival on Kaua‘i. All active cases are in isolation. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine, and offered testing.

Today’s case brings the number of active cases to three, with 208 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 177 confirmed locally, one probable, and 30 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
