One New Kaua‘i Resident Diagnosed With COVID-19
The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported one new case of COVID-19 on Friday, Jan. 22.
Today’s case is an adult resident whose source of infection is related to mainland travel. This case was tested off-island, but results were reported after arrival on Kaua‘i . All active cases are in isolation. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine, and offered testing.
Today’s case brings the number of active cases to six, with 206 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 177 confirmed locally, one probable, and 28 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
