The Kaua‘i District Health Office reported one new case of COVID-19 on Sunday, Dec. 6.

The case is an adult female visitor and is travel-related. The individual had a negative pre-travel test result prior to Kaua‘i opting-out of the state’s Safe Travels program, but later tested positive.

All active cases are in isolation, and one case remains hospitalized. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine, and offered testing.

Today’s case brings the number of on-island active cases to 11, with 140 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 122 confirmed locally, one probable, and 17 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
