Hōkūleʻa docked at Nāwiliwili Small Boat Harbor
After leaving Hanalei Thursday afternoon, Hōkūleʻa arrived at Nāwiliwili Small Boat Harbor Friday morning at 7:30 a.m., a day earlier than planned due to the forecasted weather conditions.
The crew will host public canoe tours over the weekend, however, events may be postponed/canceled due to weather as Tropical Storm Hone approaches the Hawaiian Islands. The public is encouraged to check the @hokuleacrew Instagram and Facebook or hokulea.com for the latest updates.
Kaua‘i is the first stop for the Hōkūleʻa along its seven-month Pae ‘Āina Statewide Sail around the Hawaiian Islands. The voyage will cover 3,000 miles, stopping at 31 ports and reaching 34 communities, before Hōkūleʻan and Hikianalia resume the Moananuiākea Circumnavigation of the Pacific in March 2025.
Those interested in touring the famed vessel may do so today from noon to 4:30 p.m. Tours will also be offered, weather permitting, on Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m.
From Aug. 26-29, the public can see the Hōkūleʻa daily from 4-7 p.m.
