In an effort to avoid a water outage due to dry weather, Kaua‘i County officials have issued a water conservation request for customers along the North Shore.

The Department of Water, in cooperation with Princeville Utilities Co., Inc., issued the request for those customers on Anini Road, Kalihiwai Valley Estates and a portion of Kūhiō Highway; near Hanalei Plantation Road in Princeville, until further notice.

Princeville Utilities recently issued a water conservation notice for their customers, as a precautionary measure to avoid a water outage due to dry weather conditions. Department of Water customers located on Anini Road, Kalihiwai Valley Estates and approximately seven customers along Kūhiō Highway in Princeville are serviced from the utility company’s sources and are advised to adhere to the conservation request.

Customers are advised to limit water use to essential needs only, such as drinking, cooking and sanitation purposes.
