Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: June 8-14

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for June 8-14. In observance of Kamehameha Day on June 11 there will be no contraflow, or lane closures unless otherwise permitted.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

LĪHU‘E TO KIPU

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Rice Street and Puuana Road, on Monday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 12 through Friday, June 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting and guardrail clearing.

WAPOULI TO KEALIA (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 8.11 and 9.78, in the vicinity of Akia Road and Mailihuna Road, on Tuesday, June 11 through Friday, June 14, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 21 and 23.88, in the vicinity of Waiakalua Street and Kalihiwai Road, on Monday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 12 through Friday, June 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, on Sunday, June 9, Monday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 12 through Friday, June 14, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for highway reconstruction.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for installation of soil anchors at the bottom or Hanalei Hill. Alternating traffic will be allowed through the open lane.

Single lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway, on Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing.

— WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (ROUTES 550) —

KŌKE‘E (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction, between mile post 11.5 and 14, on Sunday, June 9 through Friday, June 14, from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for road widening and paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— MA‘ALO ROAD (ROUTES 583) —

KAPAIA (WEEKEND WORK)

Right lane closure on Ma‘alo Road (Route 583) possible in either direction, between mile post 3.32 and 3.85, on Saturday, June 8, from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for tree trimming.

WAILUA TO KAPA‘A

Full closure of Kapa‘a Bypass Road (Route 5600), between mile post 0.77 to 3.07, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Olohena Road on Thursday, June 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for bridge inspection.
