Disaster loans available to Kaua‘i residents, business owners following April storm
The U.S. Small Business Administration made a disaster declaration for the island of Kaua‘i in response to the severe storms, flooding and landslides that occurred April 11-12.
Homeowners and renters on Kaua‘i may be eligible for disaster loans of up to $100,000 to repair or replace personal property damaged or lost in the storms, including vehicles. Homeowners may be eligible for up to $500,000 to repair or replace their primary residents.
Businesses and private nonprofit organizations in Hawai‘i, Honolulu, Kalawao, Kaua‘i, and Maui Counties may be eligible for up to $2 million both for physical damage or economic losses directly attributed to the April storms.
SBA opened a disaster loan outreach center in Kalāheo at the Kalāheo Neighborhood Center, located at 4480 Papalina Rd.
The office will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
