Elderly woman in serious condition following hit-and-run on Kaua‘i
Kaua‘i police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run which left a 72-year-old woman with serious injuries.
The incident occurred on April 15 at approximately 6:30 a.m. According to police, the elderly woman of Kōloa was walking east on Waila‘au Road when she was hit by an unknown vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before the arrival of first responders.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a dark-colored full-size pickup truck.
The woman was medevaced to the Queen’s Medical Center on O‘ahu where she remains in serious condition.
The investigation remains ongoing. KPD encourages anyone who may have information about this incident to come forward.
