Celebrate Earth Day with Kaua‘i County and the community college
The public is invited to join a celebration of sustainability and agriculture at Ho‘olaule‘a no ka Honua, a Celebration for the Earth, on Saturday.
This second annual event, hosted by the County of Kaua‘i Office of Economic Development, Kaua‘i Community College, and the Kaua‘i Economic Development Board, is set to take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kaua‘i Community College in Līhu‘e.
The festivities promise a day filled with fun, learning, and delicious free food in honor of the island and those who work tirelessly to sustain community food systems.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge and honor the dedication of individuals and groups committed to improving our long-term sustainability and nurturing our island’s precious resources,” said Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami. “We are grateful for all involved in making this event possible for our community and our keiki to learn and enjoy.”
Interim Chancellor of Kaua‘i Community College Margaret Sanchez adds, “Ho‘olaule‘a no ka Honua exemplifies our island’s strength in collaboration and community spirit. It’s a testament to what we can achieve when we work together towards a common goal.”
The day’s activities include:
