Update: Water service restored in Kapa‘a following shutoff for mainline break repair

5:03 p.m. March 14 update: Water service has been restored to customers on a portion of Kuamo’o Road; from Opaeka’a Road to Pa’ako Street, including Lihau Street, Kuhoho Street, Aleo Street, Pa’ako Street, Hie Street, Iliki Street, Molo Street and Alahele Street, as of approximately 3:45 p.m. this afternoon. 

The partial single-lane closure remains in place until the remaining road work is completed.   

Original post: A recent mainline break in Kapa‘a forced a water service shutdown so repairs could be made this afternoon.

As of 1:11 p.m., was is shut off on a portion of Kuamo’o Road; from Opaeka’a Road to Pa’ako Street, and includes Lihau Street, Kuhoho Street, Aleo Street, Pa’ako Street, Hie Street, Iliki Street, Molo Street and Alahele Street.

The water is expected to be turned back on at 4 p.m.

Additionally, a partial single-lane closure is implemented along Kuamo’o Road to provide a safe work zone for repairs. Flagger personnel will assist with traffic flow.

Customers located in the affected service area are advised to prepare for the water service shutdown by taking the following steps:

  • Storing water to meet your needs until water service can be safely restored.
  • Notify neighbors, family and friends about the water service shutdown.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heater does not empty during the shutdown.
