Update at 8:40 a.m. March 9: The Kaua‘i Police Department says 34-year-old Austin T. Armstrong of Hanapēpē was located the morning of March 9 and is safe.

Original post: The Kaua‘i Police Department has reported that a 34-year-old man went missing March 8 and is asking the public for help.

Austin T. Armstrong of Hanapepe was last seen on Thursday, Mar. 7, 2024, the county said.

The county reported he was driving a 2000 Black Toyota 4Runner multi-purpose vehicle bearing the license plate KSR 277.

 Armstrong is reportedly 6 feet tall, weighs approximately 165 pounds, has green eyes and long blonde curly hair.

He was last seen wearing a gray shirt and gray surf shorts. He is known to frequent the Hanapēpē area, as well as beaches on the western side of the island including Polihale Beach, the statement said.

Anyone with information about Armstrong’s whereabouts on Kaua‘i is urged to call KPD Dispatch at 241-1711. Those wishing to remain anonymous can provide information by calling Crime Stoppers Kaua‘i at 808-246-8300, submitting a tip at cskauai.org, or through the Crime Stoppers Kaua‘i P3 Tips Mobile App.
