Over $100,000 raised by North Shore Give Charity Auction and Gala
Hosted by North Shore Give, the d/b/a for the charitable nonprofit Kauaʻi North Shore Community Foundation founded in 2012, the North Shore Give Charity Auction and Gala held on Feb. 21 raised over $100,000.
The initiative included an online auction that was live for two weeks and culminated with a live auction and gala at the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay in Princeville.
“Itʻs great when residents come together to support the community,” said Stefan Swanepoel,
president of North Shore Give.
Community members and organizations donated over 100 auction items and the online auction received almost 3,500 unique visitors. Proceeds will be directed to nonprofits and projects that benefit the North Shore community with a focus on education, health and wellness, and disaster preparedness and community resiliency.
“North Shore Give is a catalyst for addressing community needs, and the auction and gala are
just one way the community is working together,” continued Swanepoel.
Guests and residents who attended the North Shore Give Gala included the governor’s representative for Kauaʻi, Dana Hazelton; County of Kauaʻi Council Chair Mel Rapozo; Councilmember Bernard Carvalho; Councilmember Felicia Cowden; Chief of Police Todd Raybuck; golf course architect Robert Trent Jones; North Shore Give board of directors and more.
KONG Radio DJ Ron Wiley served as auctioneer for the live auction at the gala.
