As a reminder, scrap metal is not accepted at the Līhu‘e refuse transfer station until further notice due to ongoing equipment issues.

The Public Works Solid Waste Division is completing the procurement of new equipment to provide this service. Officials estimate it may take several months for scrap metal recycling to be available at the Līhu‘e refuse transfer station. Updates will be provided in a future news release.

Customers should continue transporting their metal to the Puhi Metals Facility at 951 Puhi Road in Līhu‘e. Puhi Metals is open Monday to Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

We thank the public for your patience and cooperation during this time.
