Wailuā Wastewater Treatment Plant and Effluent Disposal Improvements meeting set for Oct. 12

The public is invited to participate in a virtual meeting for the Draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) of the  Wailua Wastewater Treatment Plant and Effluent Disposal Improvements project on Oct. 12, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The community may log on via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87685552550 or phone at 669-900-9128. The meeting ID number to connect is 876 8555 2550.

The County of Kaua‘i’s Draft Environmental Assessment for the proposed improvements to the Wailua Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and its effluent disposal system includes the following:

  • Improvements to existing WWTP processes;
  • Rehabilitation of the existing recycled water force main that connects the WWTP to the irrigation holding pond at the Wailua Municipal Golf Course; and
  • Upgrades to the existing ocean outfall diffusers to prevent them from being covered by sand.

The virtual public meeting will also provide an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions about the project or provide comments.
