Kaua‘i Humane Society’s 18th annual ‘Paws for Celebration’ Gala coming Sept. 30
The Kaua‘i Humane Society will host its 18th annual fundraiser, the “Paws For Celebration” Gala, on Sept. 30 from 5 to 8:15 p.m. at their shelter to benefit its animals.
100% of proceeds raised will go towards Kaua’i Humane Society.
The beach-themed event will feature a variety of activities including dinner, live music, fire dancing, special appearances by the shelter’s animals, live and silent auctions, souvenirs to take home, an opportunity to purchase Kaua‘i Humane Society merchandise, and a chance to hear from and talk to staff about the latest happenings at the organization.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best beach gear. Attendees can experience An Evening in Paradise for $175 per person, or reserve a table for a group of eight for $1,250. Tickets are purchasable online at kauaihumane.org/paws-for-celebration.
“We’re calling all KHS supporters to join us at our 18th annual event dedicated to sharing the successes of the year and our plans for next year at Paws for Celebration,” said Nicole Schafer Crane, Executive Director of Kaua`i Humane Society. “It’s our absolute pleasure to organize a fun event that brings the community of animal lovers together to support our mission of continuing to provide homes for our beloved pets, and offering our community help where it is needed.”
Kaua’i Humane Society currently has 391 shelter animals, including 65 dogs and 326 cats. All animals available for adoption are microchipped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, given flea and tick preventative, and receive dewormer.
For animal lovers unable to attend the event but are interested in offering their support, Kaua`i Humane Society will host an online auction from Sept. 18 to 30. Silent auction items and live auction items at the gala include adventures, spa, resort stays and more. For supporters interested in donating an item or experience for the auction, please complete the form here and submit via email to support@kauaihumane.org.
“This fundraiser is critical for our shelter to continue helping Kauai’s animals, and it’s a great opportunity to celebrate with our supporters.” Crane added. “We couldn’t do what we do without the support of our donors and this fundraising event.”
With funds raised at last year’s event, Kaua’i Humane Society was able to purchase a new dental machine, sponsor hundreds of animals’ transfers and off-island adoptions, and perform several outreach clinics across the island.
