Maui recording artists, hālau to raise funds for wildfire relief efforts during benefit concert
Celebrated and award-winning Maui recording artists and hālau will come together this weekend to offer the healing and unifying power of mele (music) during a benefit concert event in support of Maui wildfire relief and recovery efforts
The Wiwoʻole Maui Benefit Concert will be live-streamed at www.kaainamomona.org and across participating artists’ social media platforms worldwide from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 19 from Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Wailea. The event is raising disaster relief funds urgently needed to support and sustain victims of the wildfires that have affected communities around Maui and devastated the historic town of Lāhainā.
The concert is presented by the Grand Wailea, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, KITV4 News and Pacific Media Group. It will be emceed by Malika Dudley.
Proceeds will be stewarded through Native Hawaiian nonprofit ‘Āina Momona and the Maui Strong Fund of the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation.
