#KokuaforMaui fundraiser underway by iHeartMedia Honolulu stations
All iHeartMedia Honolulu radio stations — KDNN-FM, KDNN-HD2, KHVH-AM, KIKI-AM, KSSK AM/FM, KUBT-FM, KUBT-HD2, KUCD-FM and KUCD-HD2 — and their morning shows are hosting a #KokuaforMaui fundraiser beginning immediately in support of the American Red Cross, Pacific Islands Region’s relief efforts on Maui amid the devastating and deadly wildfires.
“With thousands of buildings burned to the ground and the casualty count increasing daily, each of us can play a part in bringing stability and supplies to Maui,” said Scott Hogle, president of iHeartMedia Honolulu.
During the fundraiser, listeners — on their radios and streaming — are encouraged to make monetary donations to the Hawai‘i Red Cross for Maui relief efforts at www.KokuaforMaui.com and www.iHeartHelpsMaui.com
“The people of Maui are our neighbors and iHeartMedia Honolulu is proud to do whatever we can to empower our ‘ohana and friends on Maui to recover and rebuild in the face of what appears to be the deadliest natural disaster in Hawai‘i history,” said Jamie Hyatt, senior vice president of programming for iHeartMedia Honolulu.
Diane Peters-Nguyen, CEO of the American Red Cross, Pacific Islands Region called the damage caused by the Maui wildfires heartbreaking, but seeing so many people come together to help their friends and family on the Valley Isle speaks to the very spirit and mission of the Red Cross.
“All of us working together as one ‘ohana is what will ensure that the community will thrive again,” said Peters-Nguyen.
