Tamba Surf Co. hosting free movie night Saturday

Kaua‘i surf company Tamba is hosting a free movie night June 10 in the parking lot of its Kapa‘a storefront.

Tamba will screen “Ground Swell: The Other Side of Fear,” a big-wave surfing documentary narrated by Josh Brolin.

“Ground Swell” follows the 2021-22 big wave season along with surfers Nic Von Rupp, Kai Lenny, Matt Bromley, Torrey Meister and female surfer Bianca Valenti. They surf waves in locations from Nazare in Portugal, Jaws and Pipeline in Hawai‘i and Mavericks in Northern California.

Tamba Surf Co. is located at 4-1543 Kuhio Highway in Kapa‘a.

• 6:30 p.m. – Event starts with free hot dogs, popcorn, juice and cornhole games
• 8 p.m. – “Ground Swell,” a 90-minute movie, begins on a 20-foot screen

The Tamba storefront will stay open late, likely until showtime at 8 p.m.
