Kauaʻi County seeks feedback on proposed strategies to adapt to climate change

The County of Kauaʻi is seeking feedback from its residents about its proposed Climate Adaptation Strategies.

To gather feedback, the county has launched an online poll, which will be available from May 10 through June 21. 

Residents can rate and comment on the proposed strategies to adapt to climate change at kauaiadaptation.com.

The county also is hosting a series of workshops where residents can learn about the strategies and discuss how they could be implemented in their community. 

The workshops will be held online and in person, with a light vegan dinner provided for those attending in person. The recorded presentation of the workshops will be available at kauaiadaptation.com.

The online workshop will take place on May 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Residents can register here

The in-person workshops will be held at the Līhuʻe Civic Center, Moʻikeha Building, Conference Room 2, on May 17 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Other workshop dates and locations include:

  • June 1: Kōloa Neighborhood Center 
  • June 6: Waimea Neighborhood Center
  • June 13: St. Catherine School (Kapaʻa) 
  • June 15: Hanalei Elementary School
