Conference for Toastmasters District 49 set for April 29 – May 6
Toastmasters District 49 is gearing up for their upcoming conference, “People. Passion. Purpose.” that is scheduled for April 29 to May 6.
The registration fee is $85, and interested individuals are asked to register at https://district49.org/event/conference-2023/ by April 28.
- April 29: The event will begin with the District 49 International Speech Contest via Zoom, which is open to everyone.
- May 4: A watch party event will be held for those who would like to view the recorded speech contest.
- May 5: The conference will continue with a district council meeting which will be open to Toastmasters members.
- May 6: The event will conclude with an in-person gathering at the Pagoda Hotel’s C’est Si Bon Room in Honolulu from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The conference will be spearheaded by District Director Gerald Toyomura, Program Quality Director Charen Kepler and Club Growth Director Lynn Araki-Regan.
The Conference Toastmaster, or master of ceremony, will be Keith Regan, the State of Hawaiʻi Controller.
Attendees can expect to be inspired by keynote speaker, past district governor and distinguished Toastmaster Robert Cravalho, and speaker Dr. Tsun-Hui Hung, who won the 2018 Nā Hōkū Hanohano award.
The conference program will include educational and leadership recognitions, a continental breakfast, snack breaks, lunch, and opportunities for fellowship.
Toastmasters is a nonprofit organization that helps people develop their public speaking and leadership skills. The organization has been around for more than 90 years and has more than 16,000 clubs in 143 countries.
