Weekly COVID Update: Reported Cases Decline Over Past 2 Weeks Statewide
The state Department of Health reported 3,689 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, Aug. 3, bringing the statewide total to 329,633. Twenty-one new fatalities were reported.
According to DOH, the average daily case count has decreased over the past two weeks and the positivity rate has also dropped from last week, sitting at 13.8% statewide.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 228,535
Hawaiʻi: 36,727
Maui: 37,550
Kaua‘i: 16,587
Moloka‘i: 1,205
Lana‘i: 774
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 8,255
There are currently 136 individuals hospitalized for the virus. At least 1,592 have died since the pandemic began. Hospitalization data is updated Monday through Friday, except on state and federal holidays.
