People seeking office this year can make their intentions paperwork official beginning next week.

According to a press release from the state Office of Elections, the 2022 election cycle kicks off with the opening of candidate filing March 1. The filing period runs through June 7.

Individuals interested in becoming a candidate for elected office must complete and file a nomination paper to appear on the ballot.
