Kaua‘i District Health Office Releases COVID Update
The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported 10 new COVID-19 cases Sunday.
The cases were all residents. Four are children and six are adults. All 10 cases are considered community-acquired.
Six of the community-acquired infections are close contacts of a previously announced case or tied to an active cluster. The remaining four cases have no known source of infection, including two investigators have been unable to reach after repeated attempts or refused to provide information.
Sunday’s cases bring the number of active cases to 123, with 13 hospitalized, and 3,266 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 3,202 confirmed locally, eight probable and 56 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on the island.
