Reported COVID-Related Deaths Approaches 1K Statewide

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 226 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 86,316. Seven new COVID-related fatalities were reported.

Kauaʻi continues to have the highest test positivity rate in the state at 2.8% with 14 new cases as a seven-day average.

The state’s seven-day average is now 97 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.5%.

A total of 4,934 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 992 have died.
