8 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed on Kauaʻi

The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported eight new cases on Friday, Oct. 15.

Today’s cases are all residents – two children and six adults. None of the cases are related to travel. All eight cases are considered community-acquired. Four of the community-acquired infections are close contacts of a previously announced case or are tied to one of our active clusters. The remaining four community-acquired cases have no known source of infection.

Today’s cases bring the number of active cases to 57, with one hospitalized, and 2,531 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 2,472 confirmed locally, eight probable, and 51 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
