COVID-19 Cases Exceed 70K Statewide, DOH Reports
The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 747 new COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the statewide total to 70,320. Eight new COVID-related deaths were reported.
The state’s two-week average is now 606 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 7%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 49,172
Maui: 8,250
Hawai‘i: 8,682
Kaua‘i: 1,681
Moloka‘i: 168
Lana‘i: 134
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 2,233
A total of 3,805 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 641 have died.
To date, a total of 1,914,345 doses of the vaccine have been administered statewide, with 64.9% of the population fully vaccinated at 73.1% who have received at least one shot.
