6 New Cases Identified

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 452 new cases of coronavirus statewide Sunday, bringing the overall total to 42,682. No new COVID-related deaths have been reported.

A total of 96 new cases were identified on Kaua‘i Sunday. The increase in coronavirus cases has been expected with more travel and the arrival of the Delta variant in the Hawaiian Islands.

The state’s two-week average is now 288 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 5.7%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

A total of 2,710 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 537 have died.
