163 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed Statewide
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 163 new cases of coronavirus statewide Monday, bringing the overall total to 40,822. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.
The increase in Coronavirus cases is expected with more travel and the arrival of the Delta variant.
The state’s two-week average is now 185 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 4.6%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 28,897
Maui: 4,070
Hawai‘i: 3,660
Kaua‘i: 511
Lana‘i: 114
Moloka‘i: 57
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,601
A total of 2,633 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 529 have died.
To date, a total of 1,744,704 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide. DOH reports that 59.8% of residents are fully vaccinated, while 66.3% have received at least one dose.
