State Reports More Than 200 New Cases For Third Straight Day
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 258 new cases of coronavirus statewide Saturday, bringing the overall total to 40,383. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.
Following 10 consecutive days of case counts in the triple-digits, the state’s two-week average is now 161 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 4.4%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 28,632
Maui: 4,035
Hawai‘i: 3,561
Kaua‘i: 505
Lana‘i: 114
Moloka‘i: 57
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,577
A total of 2,624 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 527 have died.
To date, a total of 1,739,884 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide. DOH reports that 59.6% of residents are fully vaccinated, while 66.2% have received at least one dose.
