Virus Cases Top 200 For Second Straight Day
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 233 new cases of coronavirus statewide Friday, bringing the overall total to 40,125. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.
Following nine consecutive days of case counts in the triple-digits, the state’s two-week average is now 144 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 4.1%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 28,487
Maui: 4,017
Hawai‘i: 3,517
Kaua‘i: 497
Lana‘i: 112
Moloka‘i: 57
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,564
A total of 2,609 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 527 have died.
To date, a total of 1,739,884 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide. DOH reports that 59.6% of residents are fully vaccinated, while 66.2% have received at least one dose.
