DOH Reports One New Death Thursday
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 45 new cases of coronavirus Thursday. The statewide total is now 36,402. One new COVID-related death was also reported.
Two new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island Thursday, per DOH statistics. The state’s two-week average is 48 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.0%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 26,463
Maui: 3,660
Hawai‘i: 2,906
Kaua‘i: 321
Lana‘i: 112
Moloka‘i: 55
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,203
A total of 2,349 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 501 have died.
To date, a total of 1,546,754 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide.
