Update: Hanalei refuse transfer station now accepting trash

11:33 a.m. Sept. 9 county update: The Hanalei refuse transfer station’s trash chute is open today, and all services are now available at the facility, according to the County of Kauaʻi communications team.

Original Sept. 8 post: Due to equipment issues, the Hanalei refuse transfer station on the North Shore of Kaua‘i is not accepting trash at this time.

All other services remain available. Updates will be announced. For more information, call the Solid Waste Division at 808-241-4841.

All services at the Hanalei refuse transfer station were available Saturday following an initial partial closure on Friday.
