Kaua‘i Fire Department rescues injured New Jersey visitor from Queen’s Bath

A 54-year-old female visitor from New Jersey was rescued near Queen’s Bath on Friday after injuring her leg.

Firefighters with the Hanalei Fire Station responded to the incident in Princeville on the North Shore of the island.

According to a preliminary report, shortly after 6:25 p.m. on Sept. 6, firefighters were dispatched to a report of an injured female hiker near Queen’s Bath.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., rescuers located the hiker, who reportedly fell and injured her leg near Queen’s Bath.

The visitor was loaded into a stokes litter and transported to awaiting American Medical Response personnel for advanced medical treatment. She was later transported to Wilcox Medical Center in Līhu‘e.

KFD personnel cleared the scene at approximately 7 p.m.
