Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures from Sept. 7 to Sept. 13.

All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALII HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

1) PUHI TO KOLOA (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 3.5 to 4.5, on Monday, Sept. 9 through the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repairs.

Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 5.1 to 5.3, in the vicinity of Kahili Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 10 through the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repairs.

3) KALAHEO (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 11 to 12, in the vicinity of Lauoho Road, on Monday, Sept. 9, Wednesday, Sept. 11 and Friday, Sept. 13, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for grass cutting and shoulder clearing.

4) ELEELE TO HANAPEPE (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile post 15.75 to 16.21, in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Hanapepe Road, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for sewer line installation

5) ELEELE TO HANAPEPE

Right shoulder closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in the westbound direction between mile post 15.75 to 16.21, in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Hanapepe Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Turning off traffic signals to rewire intersection.

6) WAIMEA (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile post 22.3 to 22.7, in the vicinity of Paulaula State Historic Site (formerly Russian Fort Elizabeth State Historical Park) and Panako Road, on Sunday, Sept. 8 through the morning of Monday, Sept. 9 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repairs.

7) KEKAHA (24/7)

Right lane closure on Rice Street (Route 51) in the northbound direction, between Hoolaulea Way and Mokoi Street, in the vicinity of Royal Sonesta driveway entrance on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for slope stabilization.

1) HANAMAULU (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 2 to 3, in the vicinity of Hanamaulu Road and Kauai Beach Drive, on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 2 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cutting grass along banks and guardrails.

2) LIHUE TO HANAMAULU

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping and sign installation.

3) LIHUE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.59 and 3.19, in the vicinity of Kapule Highway and Kauai Beach Road on Sunday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.

4) LIHUE (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction, between mile post 4.55 to 4.66 in the vicinity of Wailua Golf Course, on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 2 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cutting grass along banks and guardrails.

5) LIHUE (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction, between mile post 4.62 to 4.65 in the vicinity of Wailua Golf Course, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. for cutting grass along banks and guardrails.

6) KAPAA TO KEALIA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 8.1 and 9.7, in the vicinity of Akia Road and Mailihuna Road on Sunday, Sept. 8 through Friday Sept. 13, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing.

7) KILAUEA TO PRINCEVILLE

Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between mile post 23 to 26, in the vicinity of Kuawa Road and the Princeville Airport, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass along the banks and guardrails.

8) KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, on Sunday, Sept. 8 through Friday Sept. 13, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold plaining and repaving.

9) PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Sunday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Full closure from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for drainline and storm manhole installation. Right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 0.2, in the vicinity of Kaumualii Highway, on Wednesday, Sept. 11 through the morning of Thursday, Sept. 12, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repairs.

2) KALAHEO TO ELEELE 

Right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.07 to 3.87, in the vicinity of Kaumualii Highway, on Monday, Sept. 9 thorugh Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

— WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (ROUTES 550) —

1) KOKEE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction between mile post 11.5 and 14, on Sunday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 13 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for road widening and paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— KUAMOO ROAD (ROUTE 580) —

1) WAILUA

Right lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) in the westbound direction, between mile post 0 to 0.2, in the vicinity of Wailua Road and Ohana Street, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of curb under guardrail.

2) WAILUA HOMESTEADS

Single lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 3.9, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway and Hawaiiana Road, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing.

— MAALO ROAD ROUTE 583) —

1) KAPAIA

Single lane closure on Maalo Road (Route 583) possible in either direction, between mile post 3 to 3.5, on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for grass trimming and clearing of hau bush.

— KAPAA BYPASS ROAD ONE-WAY SOUTHBOUND LEG (ROUTE 5600) —

1) KAPAA

Full closure of Kapaa Bypass Road (Route 5600) in the one-way southbound leg, between mile post 0 to .73, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway and Olohena Road on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road repair.
