Officials with the U.S. Postal Service gathered in Līhu‘e last week to celebrate the installation of six new postmasters on the Garden Isle.

USPS Hawai‘i District Manager Eileen Veach and Manager of Post Office Operations Ty Sobieraj recognized and administered the official oaths of office to Charles Atkinson (Kīlauea postmaster), Leah Caoagas (Kōloa), Rhonda Eguchi (Kalāheo), Tavey Inouye (Kapa‘a), Marissa Okamoto (Waimea), and Zachary Vanwingerden (Hanalei).

“This event was a very proud moment for these postmasters and their families,” said Veach. “The administration of the oath of office to these postmasters at the installation affirms their allegiance to the mission of the Postal Service and to the nation as a whole.

“These individuals are committed to serving their customers with integrity and upholding the trust placed in them by USPS. The Kaua‘i postal ohana, in particular, is an outstanding team that supports each other and is dedicated to the communities they serve.”

The event featured postmasters from other Kaua‘i post offices, family members of the honored postmasters, food and floral décor, and plenty of postal pride.
