Original post: The county of Kaua‘i’s web-based Multifunctional Information Distribution System is currently unavailable at the Department of Motor Vehicles due to a statewide system malfunction, officials reported Monday morning.

Customers of the DMV who are coming in for ID or driver’s license services are advised to bring in all required documents until the system has been restored.

The Multifunctional Information Distribution System is used to verify stored documents when someone who is attempting to renew, duplicate, or replace their driver’s license does not have the required original documents.

To ensure service while the Multifunctional Information Distribution System is unavailable, customers are advised to bring all necessary documents with them at the time of their appointment or transaction.

Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
