Kaua‘i lane closures for week of Aug. 17 through Aug. 23

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation has issued its list of Kaua‘i lane closures for the week of Aug. 17 through Aug. 23.

All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here.

KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY

1) PUHI TO KIPU (NIGHT WORK)
Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 1.74 to 2.95, in the vicinity of Puhi Road and Kipu Road on Aug. 19 from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for guardrail clearing and grass cutting.

2) KIPU (NIGHT WORK)
Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 3.9 to 4.1, in the vicinity of Haiku Airstrip and Puuana Road on Aug. 20 to the morning of Aug. 21, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repair.

3) KŌLOA (NIGHT WORK)
Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 5.1 to 5.3, in the vicinity of Kahili Road on Aug. 21 to the morning of Aug. 22, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repair.

4) KŌLOA (NIGHT WORK)
Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 5.5 to 6.5, in the vicinity of Kahili Road and Maluhia Road on Aug. 21, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for guardrail clearing and grass cutting.

5) KŌLOA (NIGHT WORK)
Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 6.5 to 7.5, in the vicinity of Maluhia Road and Kahili Wai Street on Aug. 23, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for guardrail clearing and grass cutting.

6) OMAO TO LAWAI
Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 8.37 to 9.98, in the vicinity of Punee Road and Akemama Road, on Aug. 19 through Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting and guardrail clearing.

7) KALAHEO TO ‘ELE‘ELE
Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 12.23 to 15.67, in the vicinity of Halewili Road on Aug. 19 through Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

8) ‘ELE‘ELE
Left turn pocket closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway in the eastbound direction between mile post 15.91 to 15.93, in the vicinity of Waialo Road on Aug. 19 through Aug. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for sewer line crossing replacement.

RICE STREET

1) LĪHU‘E
Right lane closure on Rice Street in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Hoolaulea Way and Mokoi Street, on Aug. 19 through Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for slope stabilization in the vicinity of Royal Sonesta.

KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY

1) LĪHU‘E TO HANAMĀ‘ULU
Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway on Aug. 19 through Aug. 23, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping and sign installations.

2) HANAMĀ‘ULU (NIGHT WORK)
Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, between mile post 1.06 and 2.57, in the vicinity of Laukini Street and Kapule Highway, on Aug. 19 through Aug. 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.

3) LĪHU‘E
Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway in the southbound direction, between mile post 4.07 and 5.04, in the vicinity of Wailua Golf Course on Aug. 19 through Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. for grass cutting.

4) KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK)
Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, on, Aug. 18 through Aug. 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for highway reconstruction.

5) PRINCEVILLE
Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile post 26 to 28, in the vicinity Princeville Airport and Ka Haku Road, on Aug. 19 through Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

6) PRINCEVILLE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, between mile post 0.3 to 0.5, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road, on Aug. 18 through the morning of Aug. 19, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repair.

7) PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI
Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Aug. 19 through Aug. 23, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for slope stabilization work.

8) PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK)
Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Aug. 19 through Aug. 23, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for drainline and storm manhole installation along Hanalei Hill.

9) HANALEI (NIGHT WORK)
Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, between mile post 2.4 to 2.6, in the vicinity of Aku Road, on Aug. 19 through the morning of Aug. 20, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repair.

HALEWILI ROAD

1) KALAHEO (NIGHT WORK)
Right lane closure on Halewili Road possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway and Kauwai Street, on Aug. 22 through the morning of Aug. 23, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repairs.

WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE

1) KŌKE‘E
Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive possible in either direction between mile post 11.5 and 14, on Aug. 19 through Aug. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for road widening and paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KUAMO‘O ROAD

1) WAILUA HOMESTEADS (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 3.9, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Hawaiiana Road, on Aug. 18 through Aug. 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing.

MĀ‘ALO ROAD

1) KAPAIA
Right lane closure of Mā‘alo Road in the southbound direction, between mile post .50 to .92, on Aug. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to fill drop offs.
