Check your immunization ABCs and get a head start in health at Walmart Wellnes Day
Double-check your family’s immunization alphabet and review their screening history to send your keiki back to school with a head start in health.
It’s also a good time for Mom and Dad to get a refresher course in wellness.
Hawai‘i residents and families are invited to Walmart Wellness Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 3 to check in on their health, get immunizations and more.
All 9 of Hawai‘i’s Walmart stores are participating, including the Līhuʻe store on Kaua‘i.
“Walmart’s Wellness Day provides a unique opportunity for families to streamline health needs and school supply shopping,” said Kevin Host, Walmart’s senior vice president of pharmacy.
Just in time for the back-to-school season, the pharmacy will provide customers with an array of health resources administered by qualified professionals.
You’ll be able to receive free glucose, cholesterol, body mass index and blood pressure screenings.
You can also get affordable immunizations including COVID-19; flu; human papillomavirus (HPV); pneumonia; tetanus; measles, mumps and rubella (MMR); varicella (chicken pox/shingles), whooping cough (TDAP); hepatitis A and B; and others.
There also will be in-store giveaways and demonstrations of nutrition, lifestyle and wellness products.
Families even have a chance to chat with pharmacists and learn about ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle, such as what solutions Walmart Health & Wellness can offer.
Walmart pharmacies have hosted Walmart Wellness Days since 2014, contributing more than 5 million free health screenings for customers since. Walmart is often the first stop for health care in the communities served by the 4,000-plus of its stores in medical professional shortage areas.
“It’s one of our favorite times of the year, and we are thrilled we can provide affordable health options for communities across the country on Wellness Day to help start the school year off strong,” Host said.
