County advises the public of alternative non-emergency police phone lines following technical issues
County of Kauaʻi officials are advising the public of alternative non-emergency phone lines due to technical issues with the main line.
The announcement was made in a county press release Tuesday evening.
According to the release, the Kaua‘i Police Department’s non-emergency dispatch line (808-241-1711) experienced a short disruption due to internal system upgrades earlier this evening, which has since been restored.
“While IT officials continue to work on the upgrades tonight, KPD officials are advising the public of alternative non-emergency dispatch phone lines in case operations are disrupted again,” the release states.
Officials advise the public to call the following numbers if KPD’s non-emergency dispatch line is out of service: 808-755-8516 or 808-652-7837.
It also stated the 911 emergency service line experienced a brief disruption, but has been immediately restored and remains operational.
Updates will be provided when more information becomes available.
