Weekly lane closures on Kaua‘i for June 15-21
The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation is notifying the public about its scheduled lane closures for the week of June 8-14.
Be aware that closure schedules can change at any time, without notice. All projects also are weather permitting.
— KAUMUALIʻI HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50) —
1) LĪHUʻE TO KIPU
Right lane closure possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Ho‘omana Road and Kipu Road, on Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting and guardrail clearing.
2) KŌLOA
Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.73 and 5.80, on Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for guardrail clearing and grass cutting.
3) LĀWA‘I TO KALĀHEO
Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 13 and 14.4, on Thursday and Friday, June 20-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repair.
4) ‘ELE‘ELE
Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 12.5 and 12.6, on Wednesday, June 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repair.
5) ‘ELE‘ELE
Right lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 13 and 14.4, on Monday and Tuesday, June 17-18, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repair.

Right lane closure in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Mokoi Street and Hoʻolauleʻa Way, on Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for slope stabilization in the vicinity of Royal Sonesta.
— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (HIGHWAYS 56/560) —
1) LĪHUʻE
Right lane closure on Highway 56 in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Kali Road and Hardy Street, on Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the bridge crew to repair the catch basin.
2) LĪHUʻE TO HANAMĀʻULU
Single lane closure on Highway 56 possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, on Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping and sign installations.
3) WAPOULI (NIGHT WORK)
Right lane closure on Highway 56 in the northbound direction, between mile posts 7.28 and 7.38, in the vicinity of Kāmoa Road and Kaua‘i Village Shopping Center, on Monday through Tuesday morning, June 17-18, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for utility work.
4) WAPOULI TO KEĀLIA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Single lane closure on Highway 56 possible in either direction, between mile posts 8.11 and 9.78, in the vicinity of ‘Ākia Road and Mailihuna Road, on Sunday through Friday, June 16-21, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
5) MOLOA‘A TO KALIHIWAI
Right lane closure on Highway 56 possible in either direction, between mile posts 21 and 25, in the vicinity of Waiakalua Street, on Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.
6) KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Single lane closure on Highway 56 possible in either direction, between Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, on Sunday through Friday, June 16-21, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for highway reconstruction.
7) PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI
Single lane closure on Highway 560 possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ‘Ohiki Road, on Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for installation of soil anchors at the bottom or Hanalei Hill. Alternating traffic will be allowed through the open lane.

Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Kaumualiʻi Highway, on Monday through Friday, June 17-21, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing.
