Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: March 30 to April 5

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures from March 30 to April 5. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

PUHI TO KIPU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.1 and 2.7, beginning Sunday, March 24, through Friday, March. 29, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for excavation of existing asphalt, installation of base material and asphalt paving. Travel in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow).

KALĀHEO (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 10.7 and 11, in the vicinity of Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, beginning Sunday, March 24 through Friday, March. 29, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for shoulder work and paving. Travel in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow). Use of alternate routes is recommended

WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Two lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) northbound between Kuamo‘o Road and Kapa‘a Bypass Road on Wednesday, March 27 through Friday, March 29 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for debris removal and hauling of slope material. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 16.9 and 18.5 in the vicinity of Lele Road on Monday, April 1 through Friday, April 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for shoulder grading.

WAIMEA

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in the eastbound direction, between mile post 23 and 23 in the vicinity of Waimea Canyon Drive on Thursday, April 4 through Friday, April 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for eradication and restriping.

HANAMAULU TO WAIPOULI

Roving right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Kapule Highway and the vicinity of Wana Road, on Monday, April 1, through Thursday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for street sweeping.

WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Two lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) northbound between Kuamo‘o Road and Kapa‘a Bypass Road on Monday, April 1 through Friday, April 5 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

KEALIA TO ANAHOLA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on Sunday, March 31 through Friday, April 5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

ANAHOLA TO MOLOA‘A

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 16.5 to 18, in the vicinity of Ko‘olau Road on Monday, April 1, through Thursday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

Right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction between mile post 1 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Melia Street, on Monday, April 1, through Thursday, April 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

WAILUA (24/7 CLOSURE)

Single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, until further notice for slope stabilization.
