Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: March 9-15

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced lane closures for March 9-15. Schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY

PUHI TO KĪPŪ (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction, between Anonui Street and Kīpū Road, beginning March 10 through March 15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for excavation of existing asphalt, installation of base material and pouring of concrete.

KALĀHEO (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction, between mile post 10.7 and 11, in the vicinity of Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, beginning March 10 through March 15, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for storm drain installation and paving.

KALĀHEO TO ‘ELE‘ELE

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction, between mile post 12 and 14.8, in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Laulea Street, on March 11 through March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

ELE‘ELE

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between Laulea Street and Eleele Road, on March 11 through March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for shoulder grading.

‘ELE‘ELE

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway in the westbound direction between Halewili Road and Hanapepe Road, on March 11 through March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for sewer line crossing.

KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY

WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway in either direction, between mile post 5.6 and 5.9, in the vicinity of the mauka Wailua Bridge nightly on March 13 through March 15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for KIUC doing high voltage work. All traffic will be routed to the makai Wailua Bridge during work hours.

KEĀLIA TO ANAHOLA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on March 10 through March 15, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

ANAHOLA TO MOLOA‘A

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, between mile post 15 to 18, in the vicinity of ‘Aliomanu Road on March 11 through March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI 

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from March 11 through March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for debris removal and hauling of slope material. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.

 NĀWILIWILI ROAD

LĪHU‘E

Right lane closure on Nāwiliwili Road possible in either direction between Lala Road and Nāwiliwili Road, from March 11 through March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

KUAMO‘O ROAD

WAILUA 

Right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 and 2.5, on March 11 through March 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

WAILUA (24/7 CLOSURE)

Single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road in the vicinity of the ʻŌpaekaʻa Falls lookout, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice for slope stabilization.

WAILUA (WEEKEND WORK)

Right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road possible in either direction between mile post 1.5 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Aina Pono Street, on March 9 from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for grass cutting.
