The Agency on Elderly Affairs is inviting the public to submit nominations for the 2024 Outstanding Older Americans recognition.

“Every May, the Administration for Community Living leads the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month where we pay tribute to older adults 65 years and older who play vital, positive roles in our communities,” said Kealoha Takahashi, Executive for the Agency on Elderly Affairs.

“This year’s theme is ‘Powered by Connection,’ which recognizes the profound impact that meaningful relationships and social connections have on our health and well-being,” Takahashi continued. “We will explore the vital role that connectedness plays in supporting independence and aging in place by combatting isolation, loneliness and other issues.”

For this year’s Older Americans Month, the Agency on Elderly Affairs will focus on celebrating and honoring older adults who contributed significantly to improving community life and to recognize their endeavors and accomplishments by nominating them for 2024 Male and Female Outstanding Older Americans Award.
