Flood advisory in effect this morning on Kaua‘i
Update at 8:11 a.m. on Wednesday: The flood advisory has been extended till 10 a.m.
At 7:56 a.m., radar indicated heavy rain over Kaua‘i. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 3 inches per hour. The highest rainfall rates have been occurring in southern parts of the island.
Some locations that will experience flooding include: Līhu‘e, Kapa‘a, Kalaheo, Kekaha, Princeville, Kīlauea, North Fork Wailua Trails, Alakai Swamp Trails, Lawai, Omao, Koke‘e State Park, Wailua Homesteads, Hanalei, Hanapepe, Wainiha, Na Pali State Park, Koloa, Haena, Waimea and Wailua.

At 4:39 a.m., radar indicated spotty areas of heavy rain across the island of Kauai. Most of this rain persists across the southern half of Kaua‘i but is spreading northward. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 3 inches per hour.
Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas and streams is expected.
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding.
A flood watch is also in effect for all main Hawaiian Islands through Thursday afternoon.
