Celebrate the heart of Kauaʻi during this year’s Rice Street Block Party

The public is invited to celebrate the heart of Kauaʻi and it’s local businesses and residents during the family focused Rice Street Block Party from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28 in Līhuʻe.

The block party will feature various entertainment along Rice Street, including a keiki zone with a climbing wall, rides, games, a dedicated area for Play Streets Kaua‘i, live music, local vendors and more. There will also be a kickball tournament at Līhu‘e County Park, which will raise funds for Maui wildfire victims.

Free parking will be available at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall and the Līhu‘e Civic Center.

To accommodate the block party, Rice Street between Umi Street and Kalena Street will be closed from 2 to 10 p.m. Oct. 28. Kress Street will also be closed between Rice Street and Halenani Street. Umi, Hardy and Kalena streets will remain open during the event.

During the road closure, the Route 70 Līhu‘e Shuttle will not service stops along Rice Street. Riders are directed to use bus stops on Eiwa Street.
