Honolulu-based real estate investment firm ProsPac has contributed $100,000 to the Maui Food Bank in support of the organization’s work to address immediate needs amid wildfire recovery.

Maui Food Bank is providing meals to displaced residents and collecting donations of non-perishables, food, and hygiene products. As of last week, the organization reported it had distributed over 250,000 pounds of food to emergency shelters.

Local organizations and officials encourage those who want to help with Maui’s relief efforts to consider monetary donations, as funds can more quickly be utilized to help provide support and food assistance to affected individuals and families.

According to Hawai‘i Foodbank, one in six people in Hawai‘i is facing hunger, including many kūpuna and one in four keiki. A gift of just $10 can provide someone with meals for an entire week.
